My Beast Health Blender Review: Powerful Performance after Nearly a Year of Testing
After hearing the hype about the Beast Health blender taking over TikTok and landing on Oprah’s Favorite Things list two years in a row, I finally decided to test it out for myself as a long-time blender enthusiast.
Could this uniquely styled countertop blender really outperform my $400 Vitamix that I’ve used faithfully for 5+ years? Keep reading this Beast blender review to find out!
My Blender Background
To understand if and why the Beast blender is worth the upgrade, it’s helpful to know what I’ve used in the past. As a health coach and recipe developer, high performance blenders are vital tools in my kitchen.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve tested over two dozen popular blender models from personal blenders to the cream of the crop $500+ Vitamix and Blendtec models.
For a long time I was completely satisfied with my Vitamix Ascent 2500 as nothing else quite matched its silky blends and durability. Lately though I’ve been tempted to try some of the latest innovations in blender design.
Enter the Beast Health blender…
Putting the Beast to the Test
I decided to put the Beast head-to-head against my Vitamix blender in a series of tough performance tests. Could this unique personal blender match up? Time to find out!
Here’s a quick look at my testing protocol:
- Frozen drink test – How well does it crush ice and frozen fruit? Smooth or chunky?
- Green smoothie test – Blending hard veggies and leafy greens is tricky without added liquid. How does it handle thick smoothies packed with raw produce without pre-chopping?
- Soup tests – Cream-based and broth-based soups check blending performance with hot ingredients.
- Cleanup tests – How easy to wash and scrub by hand as well as in the dishwasher?
- Noise testing – I used a decibel reader app to compare noise levels side-by-side with other blenders.
- Maintenance tracking – Documenting wear and tear on jars, lids and blades over 10 months to check durability.
How did my trusty Vitmix compare to the up-and-coming Beast? Here’s what I found…
Key Benefits and Standout Features
The Beast blender touts a number of cool features that help it stand out from the field of personal blenders. Based on my testing, here are the attributes that proved to make a meaningful difference:
- Powerful 1000-watt motor – I was truly impressed with how effectively it pulverized ice, frozen fruit, seeds and tough greens.
- 12-rib jar design – This creates great turbulence for smooth blends without needing to stop and manually mix.
- Well-designed jar, lid, cap and spatula – No annoying leaks while still being easy to clean. Love the silicone spatula for getting every last drop from the uniquely contoured jar.
- Intuitive controls – So simple to operate with just two buttons, unlike some blenders with complicated pre-programmed cycles.
- Aircraft-grade stainless steel blades – Held up for months without visible wear or dulling.
- Smart temperature monitoring– Prevents overheating even during extended blend times with tough ingredients.
- Attractive countertop design – Sleek styling looks great in any modern kitchen.
With impressive power, effectiveness and durability, the Beast definitely lives up to its name. This compact yet beastly blender packs a serious punch. But there’s more to evaluate…
In-Depth Performance Results
Here I’ll break down how the Beast blender performed in each area of my testing protocol:
Crushing Ice and Frozen Drinks
First off, frozen piña colada mixes are one of my favorite ways to put a blender to work. Most personal blenders just can’t crush ice thoroughly leaving you with a slushy chunky mess.
I was thrilled to find the Beast delivered supremely smooth frozen drinks. Ice cubes were pulverized completely along with solidly frozen fruit and veggies.
Where my Vitamix still holds a slight edge is that it virtually liquefies everything with zero detectable pieces remaining. But the Beast brings more than enough power and blade speed for satisfying frozen drinks.
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 for frozen blends
Tough Green Smoothies Without Added Liquid
Green smoothies packed full of frozen produce require significant power. I never cut corners – my mixes go straight in whole without any prep or added liquid. This is a true torture test for most blenders.
As soon as I hit the pulse button I could hear a difference in the 12-rib container design creating fierce internal turbulence. Those ribs allow ingredients to circulate completely into the blades.
It powered through thick mixtures of frozen broccoli, mango, spinach, avocado, nuts and more into a smooth delicious blend. Beast mode engaged!
No choking up or seizing like some models do. I still had to use the tamper and scrape down the sides a couple times but not bad for leafy greens and frozen goods.
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 for green smoothies
Hot Soups
I don’t make hot soups in my blenders too often but wanted to try it out. Cream-based butternut squash soup turned out quite nice and smooth.
However, I ran into separation issues with a chunky tomato basil soup. Some bits of skin and seeds made it through unblended.
And I ran into overheating warnings making a full blender-sized batch requiring a cooldown break midway. For occasional personal batches the Beast blender handles hot soups reasonably well but I’d stick with a full-size model for larger volumes.
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5 for hot soups
Cleaning and Durability
With all those ribs and contours on the jar I was worried it may be a pain to hand wash and properly clean.
I was relieved to find it just took some minor scrubbing with a soft brush to effectively clean. The blender parts hold up nicely to high heat dishwasher cycles too.
After nearly a year of heavy rotational use, the main components still look and perform like new – no visible damage to jars or lids. The blades show minimal signs of use either without dulling smoothie blending performance. Impressive!
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 for durability and ease of cleaning
How Loud is the Beast? Noise Level Test Results
With a powerful 1000-watt motor, high noise levels are expected here. I used a decibel reader app to compare noise levels across some of my blender collection:
- Beast – 90 dB
- Ninja personal blender – 88 dB
- Nutribullet Pro – 85 dB
- Vitamix Venturist – 95 dB
- Blendtec – 105 dB
The Beast and my Venturist Vitamix put out comparable noise in the low 90 dB range. Quieter than my aircraft carrier-like Blendtec but louder than my old Nutribullet.
I definitely wouldn’t take a phone call with it running! But noise level seems average and acceptable for a high performance blender.
The Beast Blender vs Leading Competitors
Here I‘ll share how my experience with the Beast Health blender stacks up against some other popular models I‘ve tested:
The Beast vs Nutribullet Pro: Much more power, larger capacity and smoother blends than my Nutribullet. Less portable for travel though.
The Beast vs Ninja personal blender: More refined design and blending ability compared to the decent but basic Ninja models. Small countertop footprint.
The Beast vs Vitamix: My Venturist Vitamix still has a slight edge for ultra silky blends but performs very closely in most regards at half the price.
The Beast vs Blendtec: Blendtec remains tops for commercial-like power but lacks extras like built-in timers. Much more expensive. Prefer the Beast for value.
For a sub-$200 blender, I don’t think you’ll find better functionality and durability than the Beast. It holds its own against far pricier competition.
Additional Blender Recommendations
Buy Bundles for More Functionality
While the Beast works great on its own, I recommend spending a little more on a blender bundle kit for added functionality:
- Extra blending jars – Make multiple servings at once
- Travel lids and cups – Blend then drink on-the-go
- Hydration system – Infuse water with fresh fruit
- Silicone spatula – Scrape every last bit out
With bundle accessories, you can take your blending to the next level!
Blender Recipe Inspiration
Don‘t forget creativity! Beast Health posts all kinds of unique smoothies, dips, sauces and even desserts in their online recipe section optimized for the Beast’s power and capacity.
I especially like using it for rich dairy-free ice creams and sorbets that rival traditional ice cream makers. Check out their recipes for tasty inspiration on new creation to blend up.
Final Verdict: An Absolute Beast for the Price
I‘ll wrap up this beast blender review with my final take. Simply put – I‘m thoroughly impressed! After nearly a year of rigorous durability testing and daily use, this blender continues excelling.
While my Vitamix can still claim to be the ultimate professional-grade blender, I struggle to justify spending 2X+ more for a only marginally better performance.
The Beast offers tremendous value and grind-anything power for well under $200. For most personal blending needs, I confidently believe it’s the top option out there right now.
Compact yet powerful, smartly designed, easy to use and to clean – what more could you want? I give my full endorsement to check out the Beast if you‘re seeking a durable high performance blender perfect for smoothie making and daily use.
