Blush & Bar Fine Jewelry: A Detailed Review After Wearing Their Rings Daily

As someone who loves accessorizing and elevating even the most casual everyday outfits, ring stacks have become my signature look over the past few years. I’m always on the hunt for trendy, quality pieces that won’t tarnish or turn my fingers green.

So when I first discovered the world of Blush & Bar‘s affordable luxury jewelry, I was instantly drawn in by their standout selection of rings, necklaces and earrings crafted from ethically-sourced metals and stones. Known for their intricate details that appear far pricier than their affordable $59 price tags, I had to see if these pretty baubles lived up to their impressive reputation.

After wearing my Blush & Bar pieces regularly for the past 6 months and closely inspecting their craftsmanship, here’s my honest review on whether these rings are worth adding to your own jewelry box.

Overview of Blush & Bar

First launched in 2016 by husband and wife duo Dan and Sarah Wesley, Tampa-based Blush & Bar has rapidly made a name for itself as a leading destination for fine jewelry you can feel good about wearing.

In just 5 short years, the brand has already amassed over 77,000 dedicated Instagram followers and counting. They‘ve also been featured widely across leading fashion and lifestyle outlets like The Wall Street Journal, People Magazine, and The Wendy Williams Show.

So what exactly sets this brand apart from other affordable jewelry brands on the market?

Blush & Bar‘s standout features include:

  • An ethical commitment to sustainable metals and conflict-free stones
  • Ring bands made from 14K or 18K gold, 925 sterling silver
  • Plating options: yellow gold, rose gold, silver
  • Lifetime warranty protection
  • Free shipping & returns
  • Part of proceeds benefit the Make A Wish Foundation

After comparing Blush & Bar’s prices to traditional mall retailers, their jewelry is priced at around 65% less than chain competitors like Zales or Kay Jewelers without sacrificing style or quality.

And with an impressive 4 out of 5 star rating across over 300 verified buyer reviews on Trustpilot, I was sold and ready to purchase.

Unboxing My First Blush & Bar Order

For my first order, I wanted to select pieces that felt special yet didn’t break the bank. I opted for 3 of their bestselling ring styles to achieve my perfect stack — the Rebecca Rope Ring, Emie CZ Ring, and Moonie Glass Ring, each gold plated over sterling silver.

I has initially eyeing their Blue Opal Carved Ring but since this was my first order, I stuck with simpler styles in case they didn’t hold up over time. Even buying 3 at once, my total came out to around $160 ($53 per ring) which felt reasonable.

When my goodies arrived at my doorstep just 4 days later, I was so excited to tear open the pretty light pink packaging! Each ring inside its own branded ring box felt straight out of a high-end department store.

The materials and intricate details sparkled just like the website photos promised. Trying them on all together, I loved the layered effect and how the mixed metals and stone shapes played off one another.

Now it was time to really put them to the test in my everyday.

How My Blush & Bar Rings Have Held Up Over 6 Months

Fast forward half a year later through countless wearings both day and night, my beloved ring stack has unsurprisingly collected its fair share of small scratches. But considering they’re still in great shape, I have zero complaints!

Here’s a review of each piece:

Rebecca Rope Ring

Of all my new additions, the quality of this ring still remains the most impeccable. Crafted in aribbon-like woven silhouette to resemble an infinity symbol, the rope design really makes a statement when catching the light.

Despite its delicate appearance, the band itself feels reassuringly sturdy and has maintained its structural shape without warping whatsoever. It has also avoided any tarnishing around theedges or underside despite having less metal surface area.

Its dainty size and demure 84 champagne-colored stones offer just the right kiss of everyday sparkle while still feeling special enough for dressing up.

My Rating: 5/5 Stars

Emie CZ Ring

While just as dazzling as the day I first unboxed it, the stones on my Emie ring have felt slightly more prone to loosening over time. About a month in, I noticed one cube zirconia stone was missing entirely!

Luckily, Blush & Bar has exceptional customer service and replaced the ring once I sent it back. To avoid losing any other gems, I’m careful to store this one alone instead of tossing it in a shared ring dish. I‘ve also noticed slightly more metal discoloration on the band‘s underside.

For the bargain price point, this ring still offers major look for less vibes. But long term I‘d recommend spending up for a style with stones set deep into a channel rather than prong-set.

My Rating: 4/5 Stars

Moonie Glass Ring

While just as shiny as ever, this ring has definitely proven the most high maintenance and prone to showing regular wear.

The glass stone itself remains securely intact. But its unfinished silver edges unfortunately leave them highly susceptible to scratches. I‘ve also noticed fading to the silver plating around the edges over time.

That being said, the muted blue glass stone is absolutely gorgeous and looks incredibly luxe on the hand. Given the affordable price tag and how aesthetically-pleasing the sculptural shape is, I still reach for this stunner constantly. For glass jewelry that requires less upkeep, I suggest checking out brands like J.Hannah.

My Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Comparing Blush and Bar to Similar Affordable Jewelry Brands

Now that we’ve thoroughly covered Blush & Bar‘s offerings and value, how do their pieces compare to other budget-friendly jewelry brands on the market? Here‘s a quick run down:

Blush & Bar vs. BaubleBar: While Blush & Bar primarily focuses on fine jewelry like rings, BaubleBar places greater emphasis on fun, trend-driven costume pieces like ear cuffs and hair accessories rather than investment pieces.

Blush & Bar vs. Mejuri: Both Blush & Bar and Mejuri sell solid gold and silver jewelry affordably by bypassing retail markups. However, Mejuri goes several steps further emphasizing ethical manufacturing and sustainability. Their pieces also skew slightly more expensive overall.

Blush and Bar vs. Gorjana: These two brands share extremely similar feminine, delicate aesthetics that work beautifully for layering. The main difference is Gorjana also sells bracelets and necklaces while Blush & Bar focuses predominantly on earrings and rings.

Blush & Bar vs. Catbird: Known for dainty rings and wispy layering chains and bracelets with a dreamy, romantic vibe, Catbird prices run about 30% higher than Blush & Bar across the board. They also offer fewer stone shapes and sizes to select from.

No matter your budget or style preferences, Blush & Bar holds its own against competitors. Keep reading for even more tips on how to wear and care for your new baubles.

Expert Tips for Care, Cleaning & Styling Your Pieces

As a longtime jewelry lover with dozens of rings in regular rotation, I‘ve picked up plenty of useful care pointers along the way. Here are my top 5 tips for keeping your BLush & Bar beauties looking their best:

1. Opt for non-abrasive jewelry cleaner – When using liquid cleaner, choose a gentle formula without harsh chemicals that could damage stones or plating. I like Brilliant Jewelry Cleaner available on Amazon.

2. Store properly when not wearing – Keep pieces tucked away in a designated jewelry box or pouch so they don‘t get scratched by other accessories. Added bonus: anti-tarnish bags prevent oxidation!

3. Remove during household chores – Rings catch on everything! Protect precious metals and prevent losing stones by stashing rings safely in a dish before makeup, skincare, cleaning, cooking etc.

4. Don‘t combine jewelry in the shower – Limit other accessory wear when showering or washing hands as residue left behind can inadvertently damage your fine jewelry over time.

5. Embrace the stack! – Play around with mixing different metal tones, stone shapes and ring sizes across multiple fingers. Layering your bling creates fun visual interest.

Is Blush & Bar Worth the Money? My Final Verdict

After closely inspecting the quality craftsmanship across my entire jewelry collection over the past 6 months, I confidently stand behind Blush and Bar as an affordable jewelry brand worth investing in.

Could the bands withstand even heavier long term wear? I have the slightest concerns about durability years down the road. And pieces with protruding stones require gentle handling to prevent losing them.

But keeping realistic expectations at their accessible price point, Blush and Bar‘s offerings remain virtually unparalleled. No other brand delivers such showstopping sparkle and luxury aesthetics for just $59 a piece.

So if you‘re looking to test out fine jewelry styles without blowing your budget, I can‘t recommend Blush and Bar enough! Between their exceptional craftsmanship to excellent customer service, they make the perfect addition to your jewelry box.
