Can Sims Watch TV in Bed in Sims 4?
Watching TV in bed is something many of us enjoy doing in real life. It can be a great way to relax after a long day. But can our Sims enjoy this simple pleasure as well in Sims 4? Let‘s take a look.
The Short Answer
Unfortunately, Sims are not able to watch TV while in bed in the base Sims 4 game. The only activities they can perform while in bed are sleeping and Woohoo.
Watching TV Requires Sitting
In order to watch TV in Sims 4, your Sim must be seated in front of a TV. The game does not allow Sims to watch TV while lying down. Even if you place a TV right next to the bed, your Sim will have to get up and sit on a chair or sofa to turn it on and watch.
Some players have reported that their Sims will sometimes autonomously kneel or sit on the floor in order to watch a nearby TV. But they will not stay in bed to watch.
Using Mods to Watch TV in Bed
There are some Sims 4 mods that can enable TV viewing from bed. One example is the Relax While Doing X mod. This mod allows Sims to remain in a relaxed pose, such as lying in bed, while performing certain activities like reading, gaming, or watching TV.
To use this mod, you simply need to download and install it. Then your Sims will be able to remain comfortably tucked in bed while enjoying their favorite shows!
There are also animation mods that make Sims look like they are watching TV from bed, even though the base game mechanics still require them to get up and sit somewhere first. These animation overrides can provide the visual effect of bedtime TV watching without altering any core gameplay.
Placing a TV in the Bedroom
While sadly your Sims can‘t actually watch from bed, placing a TV in the bedroom can still be useful. That way when your Sims get up, they don‘t have far to go to turn on the TV.
Make sure to angle the TV so it can be viewed easily from the bed. This makes the experience of lounging in bed and watching TV as seamless as possible, even if your Sim does have to technically get up first.
Using cheats to move the TV right next to the bed can also minimize the distance your Sim has to walk. Just don‘t block the route so they can‘t get into bed!
More Relaxing Bed Activities
While TV viewing isn‘t an option, there are lots of other relaxing activities Sims can do in bed:

- Listen to music
- Practice meditation
- Play handheld video games
- Chat with housemates
- Cuddle with pets or loved ones
- Enjoy a snack or drink
The bottom line is Sims can‘t watch their big screen TVs from the comfort of bed…yet! Who knows, maybe a future Sims 4 update will make this possible.
