Is the Ruiner 2000 worth it?

The short answer is no – for most GTA Online players, the Ruiner 2000 is not worth its huge $5.7 million price tag. While it is a unique and fun novelty vehicle, the Ruiner 2000 is far too expensive for what it offers in terms of practicality and performance. You can get more bang for your buck with other weaponized vehicles better suited for missions, heists, and general transportation.

As an investment analyst with over 10 years of experience, I‘ve crunched the numbers on the Ruiner 2000 to see if it‘s worth the investment. For hardcore car collectors and stunt enthusiasts, the Ruiner can be worth it. But for the average GTA Online player, here is why I cannot recommend buying the Ruiner 2000:

The Ruiner 2000 is Severely Overpriced

At $5,745,600, the Ruiner 2000 is the most expensive standard supercar in GTA Online. Compare it to other weaponized vehicles:

Vehicle Price
Oppressor Mk II $3,890,250
Deluxo $4,721,500
Scramjet $4,628,400
Ruiner 2000 $5,745,600

As you can see, the Ruiner 2000 is dramatically more expensive than comparable armored and weaponized vehicles. Yet it doesn‘t offer any greater performance or functionality to justify the huge price premium.

Mediocre Performance for the Price

The Ruiner 2000 is quick in a straight line, with a top speed of 118 mph. However, its lap times around tracks are unremarkable for a supercar. The traction and braking also feel quite loose and slippery, making the Ruiner unpredictable in corners.

It only takes one homing missile or RPG to destroy the Ruiner 2000 – hardly the durability expected of a nearly $6 million vehicle! Upgraded sports cars like the Itali GTO or Pariah can match or beat the Ruiner‘s performance at a fraction of the price.

Missiles Lock-On Inconsistently

While the Ruiner 2000‘s homing missiles pack a punch, their lock-on is inconsistent. Against agile aircraft like the Oppressor Mk II, you‘ll struggle to land hits unless the pilot is stationary. And the Ruiner only carries 8 missiles, limiting your bombardment capability.

Again, for the price, there are far better missile platforms – the Deluxo has unlimited missiles and the Stromberg‘s homing missiles are much more accurate.

Novice Drivers Will Crash Frequently

Between the slippery traction, parachute launching you into the air, and power hop sending you flying uncontrollably, the Ruiner 2000 takes some skill to drive. Novice drivers will likely wreck the car constantly, especially when trying to use the jump features in the heat of combat or a chase.

You Can Get Similar Features Elsewhere

The Ruiner 2000‘s flying, jumping, and missile barrages are certainly fun. But you can get these features on other vehicles that are far more practical:

  • The Scramjet has a powerful jump and decent missiles for $1 million+ less.
  • The Deluxo can fly and shoot missiles accurately.
  • The Oppressor Mk II is king of aerial agility and combat.

I cannot justify the Ruiner‘s price when the unique features it offers are done as well or better by other vehicles.

For all but the most hardcore collectors, skip the Ruiner 2000 – it‘s far too expensive for what it delivers. There are plenty of more affordable, more effective options for weaponized vehicles in GTA Online. The Ruiner 2000 is a novelty with its flying stunts and TV show-inspired looks, not a serious investment.

Unless you have millions burning a hole in your virtual wallet and want to show off an rare toy, I say put your money elsewhere! Let me know if you need any other GTA Online investment advice – I‘m always crunching the numbers on the best vehicles and properties to boost your criminal empire!
