Unearthing the Mysterious Dendroid Set in Remnant 2
Remnant 2 has introduced a fascinating new armor set hidden away in the far corners of the Root Earth biome. I‘m here to give you the inside scoop on tracking down the elusive Dendroid set and what makes it stand out from other armor in the game.
What is the Dendroid Set?
The Dendroid set is a collection of lightweight armor pieces with a very distinct aesthetic. It consists of the Dendroid Mask, Chest, Grips, and Leggings. When worn together, these pieces provide the following stats:
- Weight: 25
- Armor: 47
- Bleed Resistance: 10
- Poison Resistance: 10
- Corrosion Resistance: 5
Compared to heavier sets like the Vagabond armor, the Dendroid set prioritizes mobility over raw defense. You won‘t find the highest armor rating or resistance numbers here. However, the extremely low weight means you can wear the full set without fat rolling or running out of stamina too quickly.
If you play a nimble class like the Hunter or Gunslinger, the Dendroid set is a great fit. You‘ll still have reasonable defense against status effects while retaining the ability to dodge and move freely. Plus, in my opinion, it simply looks fantastic with intricate roots and wood textures adorning each piece.
Where to Find the Dendroid Armor Set
Uncovering the Dendroid set isn‘t as straightforward as visiting a merchant or completing a quest. You‘ll need to locate the hidden stash tucked away in the Ashen Wastelands area of the Root Earth.
This means you likely won‘t gain access to the set until late in Remnant 2‘s campaign. You must battle through all the previous biomes like Yaesha, Erud, and the Labyrinth before reaching this point.
When you first enter the Ashen Wastelands, clear through the standard path of enemies until you reach a debris-filled area with junked cars strewn about. Off to the right side here lies a small wooden shelter. Crouch through the hole in this structure.

You should now see a series of wooden ramps and platforms. Carefully traverse up these until you reach a precarious stone pillar at the end.
This is the tricky part. You must perfectly time your jump from the top of that pillar onto a jutting piece of architecture beside it. Too early or late, and you‘ll plummet below without reaching your prize.
Execute that leap of faith successfully, and you’ll spot a katana sword planted in the ground with a body wrapped in vines and roots next to it. Interact with these remains to loot the full Dendroid armor set and a useful ring.

The Reaping Stone Ring found here provides minor resistance to all elemental damage types. It also grants health steal on hit. Equip this to complement the Dendroid set’s bleeding and poison protection.
And that’s all there is to finding one of Remnant 2’s most intriguing armor sets! With some platforming prowess and exploration of that remote Ashen Wastelands locale, the lightweight Dendroid collection can be yours.
Analyzing the Dendroid Set Bonuses
Now that you know where to acquire the Dendroid pieces, let’s examine the attributes of each component:
Dendroid Mask
- Armor: 7
- Weight: 3
- Bleed Resistance: 2
The mask offers minimal protection on its own. However, it looks very imposing with almost helm-like sculpted wood textures.
Dendroid Chest
- Armor: 23
- Weight: 12
- Bleed Resistance: 4
- Poison Resistance: 5
- Corrosion Resistance: 2
Unsurprisingly, the chest piece bears the brunt of the Dendroid set’s overall defense and resistances. Over 20 armor helps cushion blows while the chance to resist status buildup is invaluable.
Dendroid Grips
- Armor: 4
- Weight: 3
- Poison Resistance: 1
- Corrosion Resistance: 1
Marginal armor here but the grips add necessary poison and corrosion protection to hit the full set’s 10 resistance in both categories.
Dendroid Leggings
- Armor: 13
- Weight: 7
- Bleed Resistance: 3
- Poison Resistance: 3
- Corrosion Resistance: 2
Finishing off with robust leg armor and rounding out status resistance makes the leggings a vital component. You need these equipped to maximize bleeding negation.
Is the Dendroid Set Worth Using?
The Dendroid set will never compete with heavy armor for raw defense. However, I believe it occupies an important niche for agile combatants who can’t afford to be slowed.
Against bosses and foes that utilize bleeding, poison, or corrosion effects, the set’s resistances pay dividends. You’ll spend less time reacting to debilitating status buildup and more time evading attacks.
Combined with the health steal from the Reaping Stone Ring, a character that inflicts consistent damage can leverage the Dendroid set to remain healthy. Lean into weapon skills like Anomaly Enhancement or Slayer’s Flurry to constantly siphon life force.
While it takes some effort to obtain, the Dendroid set exemplifies Remnant 2’s excellent attention to detail. An inconspicuous pile of vines and roots hides a complete armor collection with lore implications that have yet to be fully explained.
I won’t claim the Dendroid pieces are suited for every playstyle. But if you value mobility in the fast-paced combat of Remnant 2, it’s undoubtedly worth investigating!
