An Iconic French Label Devoted to Nautical Style

Founded way back in 1889 near the English Channel, Saint James built a name for itself keeping local French fishermen warm with exceptionally made, weatherproof knits and sweaters. Today the brand continues to produce the vast majority of its clothing in Normandy with a dedication to quality, craftsmanship and honoring its maritime roots.

While nautical inspiration isn‘t unusual in the fashion world, Saint James has practically trademarked the style with their classic Breton stripes and sailor silhouettes. As soon as you see that iconic horizontal navy and white pattern, you know it‘s Saint James!

Beyond the signature stripes, they offer well-made basics and seasonal collections across tops, dresses, jackets, pants and accessories for men, women and children. While pricing is at a premium – $100+ for most adult pieces – the exceptional fabrics, thoughtful details and flattering tailoring make it worthwhile for me. Their clothes simply last, which makes the costs per wear low over time.

As a brand, they focus on responsible production methods from start to finished garment using Organic materials, renewable energies and ethical manufacturing certification whenever possible. This social consciousness makes me proud to wear Saint James!
