For comparison, your odds of catching a wild shiny are around 1 in 500. So shinies are much more common at 8 times the rate of hundos. Yet most trainers have still never even seen certain shinies after years of playing. That shows just how elusive hundos really are!

But hundos are challenging to find for logical reasons. With IVs ranging from 0 to 15, there is only one combination out of over 4,000 possibilities that will generate the perfect 15/15/15 stats. It‘s the statistical lottery of IV probability, and the odds are firmly not in our favor.

How Other Encounter Types Boost Hundo Odds

While wild spawns make hundos painfully scarce, other encounter methods do improve the probabilities:

And of course certain species like legendaries are raid and research exclusive. You‘ll never find a wild hundo Lugia!

My Personal Hundo Hunting Journey

I‘ve been playing Pokemon Go since launch in 2016. In all those years and 28,000+ catches, I‘ve encountered only 67 hundos. That‘s approximately a 1 in 420 rate – very lucky compared to the estimated 1 in 4,096 base rate!
