Prophets used the stars for divination and omens. In Ancient Greece and Rome, philosophers like Plato and Aristotle debated the role of celestial bodies in worldly affairs. Mythology told fanciful stories linking gods to constellations. By Medieval times, universities taught astrology alongside math, grammar and rhetoric!
