Yes, Lance‘s Coveted Charizard V Can Evolve into the Powerful Charizard VSTAR!

As a longtime Pokémon TCG collector and competitive player, I‘m thrilled to confirm that Lance‘s highly sought-after Charizard V promo card can indeed evolve into the formidable Charizard VSTAR! This is big news in the Pokémon community right now as we uncover all the powers of the new VSTAR mechanic.

Lance‘s Charizard V has a special place in the hearts of fans as an iconic card released for the 25th Anniversary Celebrations set last year. The nostalgic retro artwork featuring Lance and his ace Charizard instantly made it a must-have chase card for collectors and players alike. Its market price still hovers around $75-100 mint due to scarce availability and popularity.

Evolving this prized promo into Charizard VSTAR upgrades it into one of the strongest playable Charizard cards we‘ve seen. Let‘s dive deeper into the stats and performance of this fiery duo:

Origins and Impact of Lance‘s Promo Charizard V

Lance‘s Charizard V surfaced initially as the featured promo in the Celebrations collector‘s box. As one of the few Charizard cards in the anniversary set, it was already guaranteed to see high demand. But this version of Charizard truly resonated with fans for its commemorative retro art by Mitsuhiro Arita featuring Lance, the iconic Pokémon League Champion.

The nostalgic art combined with its status as a limited print promotional card made this appealing on all fronts – to collectors completing Celebrations sets, competitive players, and anyone who loved the classic games and anime. Prices ranging from $75 up to $500 mint demonstrate the lasting value of this Charizard V.

Evolving into Charizard VSTAR Powers Up Your Strategy

With the new VSTAR evolution mechanic introduced this year in the Sword & Shield sets, we can now evolve Lance‘s Charizard V into Charizard VSTAR to access even stronger powers.

As a Stage 2 evolution, Charizard VSTAR requires some setup, needing to evolve from Charmander to Charmeleon first. But it has beefy 240 HP to work with, which is higher than many VMAX! More importantly, gaining its "Searing Sunraze Smash" VSTAR Power gives you a huge single-use nuke attack.

Discarding 3 energy, you can slam the opponent for a fiery 300 damage! Combined with Charizard V‘s solid "Heat Blast" attack dealing 180 damage for 3 energy, you have options for big one-hit knockouts. This presents an ideal attacker to build your deck around.

Here are some tips to optimize your strategy using this fiery duo:

• Use Welder and Fire Crystal to accelerate energy attachments each turn.
• Add Switch cards to retreat Charizard V and preserve damage counters.
• Run multiple Charizard lines for consistency in setting up Charizard VSTAR.
• Tech in some Double Turbo Energy to power up attacks faster.

Evolving up to Charizard VSTAR gives your deck a much-needed big finisher attack that can muscle through bulkier VMAX threats. And the art on the Charizard VSTAR perfectly complements Lance‘s Charizard too!

Charizard Continues Reigning as the Face of Pokémon TCG

Charizard‘s enduring popularity as the mascot of Pokémon TCG is clear when you follow the trajectory of its card history. The Base Set Charizard back in 1999 kickstarted its card values soaring over time. Iconic chase cards like the Gold Star Charizard also proved its collector appeal.

More recently in the Sun & Moon era, we saw incredible rainbow rare Charizards enter the scene. Now in 2022, Charizard still commands respect as one of the most sought-after hits in new sets like Brilliant Stars. Fans just can‘t get enough of collecting powerful Charizard cards!

Of course, no Charizard commands more history and respect than the Holy Grail Base Set 1st Edition Charizard. A PSA 10 Gem Mint copy of this card sold for $416,000 in October 2021, crushing the previous record sale of $300,000 earlier that year. As the rarest and most valuable Pokémon card in existence, it sits on a throne untouchable by any other Charizard.

While Lance‘s Charizard V and Charizard VSTAR may never reach this legendary status, they carry on the legacy proudly as iconic chase Charizards for a new generation of collectors. We‘re blessed to be able to evolve this pair together into a flaming VSTAR powerhouse. Any fan would be lucky to own and play with these amazing cards.

So there you have it. Thanks to the new VSTAR evolution, we can now evolve Lance‘s prized Charizard V promo into the mighty Charizard VSTAR, letting this iconic duo reach its full competitive potential. For me as a collector, it simply doesn‘t get much cooler than that!
