When Should I Block Off My Calendar?

Mayfest takes place each year in (you guessed it) May. The 2023 dates run from Thursday, May 18th through Sunday, May 21st.

Official hours are:

• Thursday & Friday: 11am to 11pm
• Saturday: 10am to 11pm
• Sunday: 10am to 8pm

Let‘s be honest, grown-up me loves riding the Ferris wheel and playing carnival games just as much as kid me did. Mayfest delivers endless family fun with carnival rides for all ages.

Give yourself extra time, especially on weekends, for traffic and shuttles. And remember where you parked – those lots are massive!

Public Transportation

My personal favorite transportation hack if you‘re coming from Dallas or Fort Worth is hopping the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) train.

During Mayfest, the TRE runs direct to the festival entrance with special schedules. Grab a seat, relax, and leave the driving to them!

Check TRE schedules and stations ahead of time online. This hassle-free option will have you Mayfesting in no time.

Lodging to Rest Your Head

Partying for 4 days straight can take its toll! If you‘re coming from out of town, plenty of hotels in downtown Fort Worth offer discounted Mayfest packages.

Many also provide convenient shuttles to the festival entrance. I recommend booking your room far in advance, as they sell out quickly and rates skyrocket.

If camping is more your speed, sorry to report campsites are NOT available on the Mayfest grounds. But hey, you‘ll have plenty of time to sleep it off next week!
