Yura‘s Quest in Elden Ring: A Complete Walkthrough and Guide to Rare Weapons and Rewards

As a seasoned Elden Ring player and content creator, I have completed Yura‘s lengthy questline multiple times across journeys in the Lands Between. The winding adventure reveals more about Yura‘s bloody history, presents thrilling 1v1 duels, and rewards exceptionally rare weapons you won‘t find anywhere else.

This guide will unpack secrets of Yura‘s past, detail the steps to complete his quest, provide navigational maps and images of the unique weapons, and share more insights from my own challenging completion of Yura’s mission. I aim to prepare fellow Tarnished to master the quest and claim its powerful rewards.

Who is Yura and Why Does He Hunt Bloody Fingers?

Yura is encountered early in Elden Ring below a bridge in Limgrave, but his history traces back revealing why this swordsman stalks fearsome Bloody Finger assassins across the Lands Between.

As a young teen, Yura‘s family and village were attacked by a flock of bloodthirsty Fingers led by Eleonora. Though managing to survive, he lost everything and devoted his life to getting revenge against these merciless killers. Now a master samurai, Yura tracked Eleonora for years until fate brought them together at last.

This quest is Yura’s chance to finally avenge his family, which provides deeper context to the battles ahead. As fellow Tarnished, it is possible to aid him in putting an end to this vengeance. But the journey will span the world and require intense skill to defeat the Bloody Fingers‘ deadliest champion.

Starting the Quest at Agheel Lake

Yura’s fateful quest begins by speaking to him under a bridge below The First Step site of grace in Limgrave. I recommend being at least level 30 before starting, giving you a better chance of surviving the upcoming encounters.

Yura is found loitering under the bridge along the Agheel Lake South path. Interact with him nearby the bonfire to begin the quest.

He warns of battling the dragon Agheel across the lake. While possible to take on the dragon now, it’s best saved for later. You’ll next encounter Yura again along the lake path to the Minor Erdtree in southern Limgrave.

Claiming the Blood-Letting Reduvia Dagger

Further along Agheel Lake‘s southern path, you discover a summoning sign beckoning you to aid Yura against the invading Bloody Finger Nerijus.

Activating this sign transports you to battle Nerijus alongside Yura. Fighting off his aggressive bleeding assaults rewards the iconic Reduvia dagger upon his defeat.

This deadly dagger utilizes blood projectiles and causes hemorrhaging blood loss buildup – perfect for my ninja assassin build. Its unique skill damages HP directly too. At +10 upgrade, it provides the following stats:

After defeating Nerijus, you can find Yura recovering in a nearby cave. He discusses his hatred of these bloody finger assassins that live only to kill. This foreshadows the intense showdown with their leader Eleonora to come.

Academy Gate Town and the Raya Lucaria Tunnel

The next step is discovering a summoning sign to again assist Yura within the Royal Academy of Raya Lucaria, found on the balancing beams crossing over the gorge there. Activate it to warp into battle against another invading Bloody Finger.

Battling alongside Yura in this fight earns the hidden treasure Ash of War: Raptor of the Mist upon victory. This ash coats weapons in a mist veil that enables a lethal vanishing attack. Yura also gifts 5 Smithing Stone [2] to further improve your armaments.

But warns that his true target lies elsewhere, and has finally tracked their leader Eleonora to a place called the Second Church of Marika across the Altus Plateau.

Traversing Deeproot Depths to Access the Altus Plateau

Reaching the isolated Altus Plateau where Yura awaits requires first obtaining the two halves of the Dectus Medallion hidden in far off dungeons – the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds and Fort Faroth specifically.

I learned the hard way attempting to navigate through Deeproot Depths and its bordering zones crawling with Fell Twins, Alabaster Lords and more lethal foes. But eventually claimed the medallion piece from Fort Faroth.

Only then by finally assembling the complete Dectus Medallion and activating the Grand Lift of Dectus was I able to ascend to the Altus Plateau at last. But deadly dangers awaited up above…

Ambush at the Second Church of Marika

Arriving at the isolated Second Church of Marika in eastern Altus, I discovered a horrific sight – Yura collapsed in a pool of blood after confronting the infamous Eleonora at last.

Speaking to his dying body triggers a surprise invasion by Eleonora herself, beginning an intense 1v1 duel. With my +17 Bloodhound’s Fang curved greatsword, I weaved between her rapier strikes using my Raptor of the Mist skill, ultimately felling this murderer after a lengthy battle.

My reward for avenging Yura’s loss was Eleonora‘s bewitching Poleblade scythe-spear weapon and the crystal Purifying Tear. Both would prove invaluable additions on my thorny road ahead.

This graceful Poleblade caused relentless blood loss buildup on strikes. At +10, its outstanding bleed rating of 77 rapidly wore down the health bars of any foe. Plus the art let me perform an evasive flurry of attacks, synergizing perfectly with my assassin build.

Obtaining the Far-Reaching Nagakiba Katana

Amongst the bloodstained scene after the Eleonora duel, I discovered the legendary katana passed down from Yura‘s samurai lineage – the Nagakiba.

This was by far the lengthiest katana I had ever held, providing outstanding attack range complemented by its "Piercing Fang" skill that let me counterattack out of harm‘s way when foes drew near.

At +25 upgrade, here‘s how the graceful Nagakiba‘s attributes stack up:

Confronting Shabriri and a Possessed Yura

Little could prepare me for the horrors of the frigid Mountaintops of the Giants. Scaling this realm filled with fire monks and decaying giants took all my skill. And I nearly faltered finally encountering Yura once more.

But he was changed, named Shabriri now and possessed by some malignant spirit. My old friend no longer remained, as the fresh bloodstains surrounding him signaled.

After an intense duel, I cut down this Shabriri figure, granting me Yura‘s Ronin armor set – but also a profound melancholy. My guide on this quest was gone, but his gifts remained and would aid all my future adventures in the Lands Between.

These armaments combine with the Raptor evasion skill and other rewards to make Yura‘s quest well worth the perilous journey.

Now on my NG+ playthrough, I dual-wield the piercing Nagakiba and hemorrhaging Eleonora‘s Poleblade as the ultimate complementary pair!

Tips and Strategies to Complete Yura‘s Quest

While richly rewarding, conquering Yura‘s full questline requires skill to overcome challenging assassins and boss battles along the way. Based on my multiple completions, here are top tips:

• Raise Vigor to increase survivability
• Level Dexterity which scales bleeding weapons

• Dual-wield or use a shield for blocking
• Craft blood-infusing greases like Bloodbone Arrow
• Use spirit summons to distract solo bosses
• Pack epic Crystal Tears for mixed physick
• Keep ample healing flasks equipped

Combat Tactics

• Analyze enemy movesets and attack patterns
• Utilize guard counters and riposte strikes when openings appear
• For Nerijus and Eleonora, keep moving and avoid getting trapped
• Against Shabriri, strike during his lengthier attack animations

Proper planning, skillful reactions, and the right bleed-focused build provides the edge needed to complete Yura‘s sprawling quest. Stay keen and precise striking when opportunities appear – just as my samurai mentor had taught!

Was the Quest Worth the Reward?

For my assassin character build and playing style – absolutely! The Reduvia, Nagakiba, and Poleblade perfectly complemented both my stats and tactics. Plus I acquired new combat skills like the vanishing Raptor evasion.

While Yura tragically meets his end, avenging his family ultimately rewards you with powerful weapons ideal for Dexterity and Arcane focused players. Plus Smithing Stones collected help upgrade whichever legendary armament that best fits your build.

I encourage all gamers to experience Yura’s quest which encapsulates so much of what makes Elden Ring extraordinary – dramatic vistas, deep lore, demanding duels, and rare treasure that shapes your excursions through the Lands Between. Just be ready for lots of blood to be spilled along the way!
