For example, 1st Edition Base Set boxes were printed for less than a year in 1999. Only about 1,000 were ever made. Decades later, it‘s incredibly rare to find these vintage boxes. This level of scarcity leads to insane prices – a PSA 10 Base Set box recently sold for $360,000!
